DIONYSOS Winery S.A. was found in Athens 1936, by Asimakis Koutsouros and Stelios Gikas. With a passion for our native varieties of grape, and a vision to create world-class wines, DIONYSOS S.A. today, is a winery that is moving forward. Our experience has taught us that quality is what counts and because of that, we’ ve invested mightily in our modest winery.
Today, DIONYSOS’ partners still are the two families and produces more than 11 million liters of wine annually. This company is one of the biggest wine producers in Greece. The Corinthos wine district, recognized as the most important quality vine growing region in Peloponnesus – Greece, is the home of DIONYSOS Winery S.A. This is where the Mediterranean climate from the south meets the continental winds from the north, creating superb winegrowing conditions to produce fruit forward, lively, temperamental and complex wines.
The Greek wine region of Corinthos, in Peloponnesus, is one of the most important appellations for the production of Red and White wines. DIONYSOS Winery is located in Lechio, about 30 minutes drive, southwest of Athens. Direction to Corinth, you cross the Corinth Canal, continue 20 km southeast, and arrive in Lechio, at DIONYSOS Winery. On the way, enjoy the incredible view of the waterway, finished in 1893. The canal is just over 6 km long and 80m high and uses a system of locks similar to that of the Panama Canal.
